Dutra 1000 – The Legendary Hungarian Heavy Hauler
Power: 90 – 100 hp (Up to 115 hp tuned) Top Speed: 25 – 30 km/hCategory: Small / Medium TractorsDescriptionManufactured between 1972 and 1975 by the famous Vörös Csillag Traktorgyár (VCST) in Budapest, Hungary, the Dutra 1000 was the final and most refined iteration of the iconic D4K series. Featuring four equal-sized driven wheels and the distinctive nose-heavy layout (with the 6-cylinder engine set far forward ahead of the front axle), the Dutra achieved an ideal dynamic weight distribution under heavy loads. In the field, it offered pulling power and ground traction that rivaled or exceeded Western tractors with significantly higher nominal horsepower.Under the hood lies the legendary Csepel 8.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine (Csepel D-613 / DT-613), delivering 90 to 100 hp of raw, uncompromised low-end torque accompanied by an unmistakable deep exhaust roar. What Was It Used For?Deep Tillage & Heavy Plowing: Primarily deployed in large agricultural cooperatives for heavy 4- to 5-furrow moldboard plowing in dense, sticky clay soils where standard 2WD or light 4WD tractors would get stuck.Heavy Subsoiling & Cultivation: Capable of pulling deep soil looseners and heavy disc harrows. Forestry & Off-Road Hauling: Widely used in severe mud, snow, and rough terrain for timber extraction and heavy grain transport due to its 4x4 traction and high ground clearance.
